The '2012 UICC World Cancer Congress' will be held in coming August (27-30) at Montreal, Canada.The congress theme 'connecting for global impact' is visionary and aims at achieving greater networking and partnership between delegates from all parts of the world, which the UICC believes will lead to meaningful and sustained actions for cancer control at global level.
The UICC key areas for global actions are on three fronts:
- Putting cancer on the global health agenda
- Convening global community
- Running global programs
The congress will provide opportunity for education and training to participants through interactive meetings, forums, workshops and sessions. The congress will focus on the importance of reaching knowledge gained through research and practice to those affected by cancer, with continued support and necessity for maintaining the momentum, in order to save lives of millions of people.
The conference platform offers a novel approach: a UICC Global Village to network and establish partnerships for cancer prevention and control.
