The 65th session of the
World Health Assembly is scheduled to be held in Geneva during 21–26 May 2012.
The
session assumes importance because this session of the Health Assembly will
discuss a number of public health issues such as universal health coverage,
Millennium Development Goals, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), mental
disorders, nutrition and adolescent pregnancy.
The Assembly assumes special importance because the world leaders are expected to take decisions on implementing the targets of Political Declaration of the September 2011 UN special session on NCDs.
